Understanding earnings is important for any delivery rider. According to DoorDash, most delivery riders, also known as Dashers, would work up to 4 hours per week and have a different full-time job.

However, many potential riders have concerns about weather this is really enough to get some decent money.

How much can you make with DoorDash in 4 hours

DoorDash doesn’t offer a fixed hourly pay. As a result, it can be a bit tricky to calculate just how much money you’d make per hour.

The pay in DoorDash depends on several factors.

This includes:

  • The distance between the restaurant and the customer.
  • The estimated time you’ll need to complete the delivery.
  • The cost of the delivery.
  • The offer’s desirability.

All of this makes the base pay per delivery.

Your hourly pay consists of this base pay, certain promotions and incentives you get as rewards, and a Delivery Streak bonus you’ll get for accepting and completing several consecutive orders during a shift. Lastly, the Dasher will also get 100% of all tips.

According to TeachMe Delivery, DoorDash delivery riders are estimated to make up to $16.58 per hour in high-earning cities, such as NYC.

This means that a DoorDash delivery rider makes about $66.32 in 4 hours.

How much can you make with DoorDash in a month

We can use the same numbers to calculate the average monthly pay.

As most Dashers work only 4 hours per week, this means they’ll earn, on average, $265.28 per month.

While this sounds low, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

This is only the average salary for a person working 4 hours a week. No one is stopping you from working more hours.

For example, if you were to work part-time, meaning 4-hour shifts each day, you’d earn $66.32 daily. If you’re working 5 days a week, you’ll earn $331.6 each week and $1326.4 a month.

DoorDash offers its workers the flexibility to choose their own working hours, so you can increase or decrease your earnings as you’d like.

How many DoorDash orders can you do in 4 hours

The number of DoorDash orders you can deliver depends on the distance and time you need to complete a delivery.

However, most riders agree that you can make about 3 orders per hour, although this number can vary from 1 to up to 4-5.

This means that most Dashers deliver approximately 12 orders in 4 hours.

The more orders a delivery rider can make, the higher their earnings. Delivering as many orders as possible is one way to increase your DoorDash profit.

What do Dashers who use Whizz e-bikes have to say

To help us understand how much money delivery riders can earn with DoorDash, Whizz has interviewed several Dashers from NYC who use our electric bikes. Here’s what they had to say:

  • Most Dashers Whizz has contacted have stated they earn about $30 per shift (without specifying the number of hours they’ve worked).
  • One Dasher has even told Whizz representatives they are Dashing 12-hour shifts on the days they’re not going to school. During this long shift, they earn, on average, $175 a day. If we suppose they work on the weekends, this would mean they could earn up to $1400 a month for just 8 work days!
  • Another delivery rider has reported earning at least $120 during 9-hour shifts.
  • One Dasher stated that the pay they would be comfortable with is $50,000 a year, which would mean their hourly wage should be around $24.04.
  • Another had said they are fully satisfied with their pay, as Dashing is only a part-time job for them.

Also, most Dashers have stated they use an e-bike for DoorDash because they cannot afford to get a car, and they prefer an electric bike over a traditional one.

All of them agree that an electric bike is the best transportation method for the job when it comes to the balance between the value and the price.

Increase your DoorDash earnings with the Whizz e-bike

More and more delivery riders in urban areas like NYC are replacing cars and traditional bikes with electric bikes.

E-bikes have many benefits in NYC.

For example, they allow you to ride on bike lanes, avoiding traffic jams and congestion.

Also, they help you get from the restaurant to the customer with as little fatigue as possible,

By choosing the proper e-bike, such as Storm-2, you can increase the number of orders you can process per hour, which will increase your profit.

Storm-2 is a superior electric bike designed for delivery riders. It reaches a speed of up to 25 mph and has Samsung-cell batteries that range up to 85 miles per charge.

All of these features allow you to make as many DoorDash orders as possible.
